Day 1 - Monday: Piraeus - Mykonos
Board your cruise at 11:00am
Mykonos - 6:30pm - 11:00pm
Enjoy a fun filled evening in this lively and sophisticated Greek Island famed for its wonderful sunsets. Beneath its sophisticated surface, ies a quite essentially Greek Island. Hundreds of tiny Chapels dot his blue and white washed island with its beautiful windmills. Wander around the meandering streets for some shopping and then find a table on the waterfront and bask in the serenity of sunset over this picturesque harbor.
Day 2 - Tuesday: Kusadasi - Patmos
Kusadasi: 7:00am - 12:00 noon
Kusadasi is today a thriving holiday resort and a shopper`s paradise. The optional Shore excursion to the impressive ancient site of nearby Ephesus should not be missed, for here history truly comes to life. Walking towards the ancient harbor, down a marble road rutted by the wheels of countless chariots, you pass architectural masterpieces like the Library of Celsus, before arriving at the Great Amphitheater where St. Paul preached. Follow in the footsteps of St Paul and explore the marbled streets lined by pillars, fountains and statues and the superly re constructed library and massive theatre giving you a breathtaking impression of life 2,000 years ago.
Patmos: 4:30pm - 9:00pm
Relax on deck for the short afternoon voyage to this delightful Greek island. Patmos is known as the site where the apocalyptic Revelations of St John the divine were written during his exile from the Roman Empire. The cave where he lived is near the site of the Monastery of the Apocalypse. The monastery of St John is built on one of the island`s highest points and houses priceless icons and manuscripts in its Treasure. It is well worth a visit.
Day 3 - Wednesday: Rhodes: 7:00am ? 6:00pm
A full day on the fascinating island of Rhodes, former home of the Knights of St. John, gives you the chance to leisurely explore the bustling port of Rhodes and the exquisitely preserved medieval Old Town with its fortified walls, museums and the monumental Palace of the Grand Masters. The beautiful Island of Roses has a rich and varied history. On a hill above the charming town of Lindos rises an ancient acropolis, dedicated to the goddess Athena. Below lays the bay of St. Paul, where the apostle landed during his voyages.
Day 4 - Thursday: Heraklion and Santorini
Heraklion: 7:00am - 11:30am
Heraklion, the capital of Crete and its principal port is just 3 miles away from the fantastic ancient ruins of the Palace of Knossos. Discovered in 1899 by archeologist, Sir Arthur Evans and partially reconstructed, the elaborate Palace is believed to be the mythical labyrinth of King Minos and the seat of ancient Minoan culture.
Santorini: 4:30pm - 9:00pm
Arriving in the picture postcard island destination of Santorini is always a thrill due to its awesome volcanic setting. The island of Santorini is perhaps the most breathtaking of all the Greek Islands. The hillside town of Thira is perched precariously atop the steep cliffs and is accessible only by cable car or donkey ride. It is an unbelievably beautiful town with white washed houses, narrow streets, open air cafes and glittering boutiques that cling to steep cliffs. Marvel at the fine vistas of the Aegean in this splendid cliff top location and enjoy a cool drink as the sun goes down.
You will leave the ship here and spend two nights in Santorini (or more if you desire) before returning to the USA.
Please note: Schedules and activities are subject to change depending upon water levels, port accessibility and weather conditions. Towns often include walks over cobblestones, steps and uneven ground; for passenger`s safety and enjoyment, we recommend you be in good physical condition to participate fully in all tours. For safety reasons, sun deck access may be limited during times of high water levels.
Cruises in 2008 offer Chidren free up to 16 years old when travelling with 2 paying adults. Children only pay port taxes!
