Rüdesheim, or officially Rüdesheim am Rhein, is a lovely little winemaking town in the Rhine Gorge (most notable, Riesling), and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in this region. The vineyards are in the middle of town or can be seen from the town’s center. The landscapes or Rüdesheim are stunning, where the high gorge walls plunge to the broad, island studded Rhine river. The town's main attraction, the famous Drosselgasse, is a lively narrow alley filled with charm, various wine bars, the Niederwald monument and the ruins of Ehrenfels Castle.
